Holly is a peasant fairy, living in a fantasy world that is not as picture perfect as it seems. She is harbouring a secret; She is in love with the princess. The good news is her love is reciprocated. But of course, without obstacles there could be no story. The king has arranged a husband for the princess. The couple rebels against this and continue to see each other in secret. But when the royal family discover Holly’s love, they are willing to use whatever means necessary to drive her away. Holly will come to learn that sometimes you must fight for love. This story turns idyllic fairy tales on their heads, challenging the predictable straight-laced endings typically seen in this genre. Themes of classism and homophobia are brought into question through the story of two people willing to risk it all for their love.
